4 Things To Do in New York City End of Summer/Fall

Jul 12, 2023

As the weather changes from blistering hot summer to crisp cool fall, here are our recommendations for what to do/see in New York City!

Visit the High Line: The High Line is a unique elevated park built on an abandoned elevated railway track. It offers stunning views of the city skyline and the Hudson River. Take a leisurely stroll along the park’s landscaped pathways, enjoy art installations, and relax on the various seating areas. It’s a great way to experience New York City from a different perspective.

Explore Governor’s Island: Take a ferry ride to Governors Island, located just a short distance from Manhattan. This car-free island offers a peaceful escape from the bustling city. You can rent a bike or bring a picnic and explore the island’s parks, gardens, and historic sites. The island also hosts various events and festivals during the end of summer and early fall, providing a unique experience.

See a Broadway Show: Walk through the theater district in Manhattan and you can explore the beautiful history of Broadway through its theaters. And better yet – why not see a Broadway show while you’re there! A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical runs Tuesday through Sunday and starting in September, we’re adding matinee performances on Thursdays at 2pm. Check out our schedule here.

Take a Fall Foliage Cruise: As summer transitions into fall, the changing colors of the foliage in and around New York City are a sight to behold. Hop aboard a fall foliage cruise along the Hudson River and witness the stunning autumnal landscapes. These cruises often offer narration about the sights and history of the area, as well as onboard amenities and refreshments. It’s a unique way to experience the natural beauty surrounding the city.
