What Neil Diamond’s bassist thought of The Neil Diamond Musical
Jun 26, 2023
For many years, Bill Cinque was Neil Diamond’s bassist and recently Bill attended a performance of the Neil Diamond musical on Broadway!
He was kind enough to meet our cast backstage after the show.
And Rock Cellar Magazine provided Bill a platform where he could share his personal perspective on A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical. Below is an excerpt.
“I thought it was incredible, from top to bottom. It wasn’t a tribute band. It wasn’t a “tell-all.” It was a real look at a real guy. The music was live onstage. Of course, there were lights, special effects and makeup, but it was real people telling a true story with live music.
The way it should be.
I was fortunate enough to meet the cast and the band after the show. In my attempt to tell them how much I loved the show, I got emotional. I got choked up for the 10th time that evening. The performance was brilliant. It was overwhelming, and I reacted in kind. This time, for the first time, I was in the audience. You know the old, “I laughed, I cried” thing? I did a lot of both that night.
The way it should be.”
