One Year Ago Today: A Beautiful Noise First Preview on Broadway

On November 2, 2022, A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical started performances on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre. The show, which now stars Nick Fradiani (originally Will Swenson) and features a score of Diamond’s classic hits, has been praised for its heartwarming story, dazzling production values, and its performances of Diamond’s classic hits.

The first preview of A Beautiful Noise was a rousing success, with the audience singing along to Diamond’s hits such as “Sweet Caroline,” “I’m a Believer,” and “America.” 

On this day in 2022, Swenson received a standing ovation for his performance as Diamond, and the show’s supporting cast was also praised for their performances. 

Following the curtain call, Robyn Hurder (Marcia Murphey) gave a speech dedicated to the company members making their Broadway debuts. 

A Beautiful Noise tells the story of Neil Diamond’s life and career, from his humble beginnings in Brooklyn to his international superstardom. The show features a book by Anthony McCarten and a score of Diamond’s classic hits, including “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “Cherry Cherry,” and “Forever in Blue Jeans.”

One year later, the cast of A Beautiful Noise includes American Idol winner Nick Fradiani, Tony nominees Robyn Hurder and Mark Jacoby, as well as Shirine Babbs, Jessie Fisher, Michael McCormick, Tom Alan Robbins, and Bri Sudia. The show is directed by Michael Mayer and choreographed by Steven Hoggett.

A Beautiful Noise is currently on sale through June 2, 2024. The show is a must-see for fans of Neil Diamond and of Broadway musicals alike.
